Acknowledgement of Appreciation
Giving back to the community through philanthropic support to Rhode Island and Hasbro Children’s Hospitals has been an important part of University Orthopedics’ ethos for decades. Their recent leadership gift, spearheaded by Edward Akelman, MD and Weber Shill, of $600,000 to the Every Child, Every Day Campaign showcases their dedicated commitment to helping all of us fulfill our promise to the children and families of our region.
For more than four decades Dimeo Construction has been a major gift supporter of our hospitals. From sponsoring events to giving to programs and renovations as well as serving in volunteer leadership roles on the Hasbro Advisory Council and Every Child, Every Day CampaignCabinet, Kimberly and Brad Dimeo along with their entire family are philanthropic role models.
A longtime supporter of Lifespan Hospitals, CVS Health recently stepped up again and invested $200,000 in the Every Child, Every Day Campaign. Their current gift provides critically needed seed funding to establish a pioneering outpatient program for adolescents with co-occurring addiction and psychiatric disorders. Thank you CVS for helping to stem the tide of Rhode Island’s opioid crisis.
Special Campaign Celebrations
Opening of the Carol A. Peterson Welcome Center at Bradley Hospital
Carol, who retired from a career as Senior Vice President of Administration with FM Global, today focuses her efforts on community volunteering, primarily helping children. Introducing the Verrecchia Clinic for Children with Autism and Developmental Disabilities
April 11, 2018 was a special day at Bradley Hospital as it marked the occasion when the plaque was unveiled for the Verrecchia Clinic for Children with Autism and Developmental Disabilities. Since 1986, Al and Gerrie Verrecchia have been an integral part of the Bradley and Hasbro Children’s Hospital Family. The Verrecchia’s commitment to the future of every child through their generosity and leadership is an inspiration to all.
Every Child, Every Day - Springtime Celebration on April 12th
More than 70 people gathered on April 12th for the Campaign’s Springtime Celebration at the Rhode Island Nursing Education Center at South Street Landing in Providence. Grateful parent Anthony Gallonio’s moving remarks reminded everyone in the room just how important our children’s hospitals are for all who live in our region. Anthony’s daughter, Grace, received life-saving care at Hasbro for a rare pediatric tumor and today is cancer-free.
